In Nur-Sultan within the XII Astana economic forum the deputy prime minister of RK Gulshara Abdykhalikova participated in a panel session “Women in Science, Innovations, Business”.
The ex-president of the Kyrgyz Republic Roza Otunbayeva, the managing director of the EBRD for Central Asia Balvanera Bruno, the chairman of the board of merging of legal entities “Association of the Ecological Organizations of Kazakhstan” Aygul Solovyova, the chairman of presidium of the international organization “Expo&Women” Saltanat Rakhimbekova and others also participated in it.
In the performance the Deputy Prime Minister noted that in Kazakhstan at the initiative of the First President – N. Nazarbaeva is under construction the new economy directed to withdrawal from raw dependence and based on innovations. In this regard the high school science with a priority for researches in metallurgy, oil and gas chemistry, agrarian and industrial complex, bio – and IT technologies develops.
“For the last 5 years the share of female researchers increased from 51.6% to 52.8% in the total number of researchers and in 2018 made 9,217 people. If in 2015-2017 from the implemented 1770 scientific projects 566 women (32%), then within 1084 scientific projects which are carried out in 2018-2020 – 418 (38%) were research supervisors” — G. Abdykalikova told.
Participants at the event discussed issues of increase in a contribution of women to science, innovations and economic development, successful practicians of the international organizations, states and business in reduction of gender gaps in different fields of activity and ability to integrate efforts of women’s community in advance of gender balance considered.
Further on fields of the Forum of G. Abdykalikov held a number of bilateral meetings.
Talking to the assistant to the UN Secretary General, the Deputy director-performer of Structure of Female UN the Wasp Regner, the deputy prime minister noted questions of further partnership and deepening of cooperation of Kazakhstan and Structure of Female UN in the field of gender equality and expansion of the rights and opportunities of women.
In Kazakhstan this organization together with the National commission on affairs of women and family population policy at the President of Kazakhstan with financial support of the Government implements projects on the gender focused planning and budgeting, expansion of the economic rights of vulnerable women by their involvement in productive employment and business, to eradication of violence against women and girls.
Issues of the carried-out work on achievement of the goals of sustainable development (IMC) were discussed at a meeting with the Assistant to the UN Secretary General, the Assistant to the Administrator and the Director of regional office of UNDP on the countries of Europe and the CIS Miryana Spolyarich Egger. Today 80% of IMC are captured by national strategic documents of the country. The Coordination council at the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan which works as the national mechanism of coordination and realization of IMC in the country is created.
It was noted that the main priority of the Government is ensuring the worthy standard of living of citizens and development as socially oriented state. In 2019 more than 43% of all expenses of the republican budget are directed to the social sphere. In the country the large-scale reforms directed to the general growth of welfare and quality of life of Kazakhstan citizens, support of vulnerable segments of the population are undertaken.
