UN Resolution on Sustainable Development Goals in support of World Day

Peace, security and sustainable institutions – what can civil society do? These questions are answered by the activities of Expo & Women within the framework of the project “Involvement of civil society institutions in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan,” implemented with the grant support of the Civil Initiatives Support Center of the Ministry of Information and Public Development of Kazakhstan.
On September 25, 2015, 193 states adopted a new UN Resolution “Transforming Our World: A Sustainable Development Agenda for 2030,” which includes 17 Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets.
One of the main tasks of the project is to increase public awareness of SDG-2030 in general and to build the expertise of specialists whose activities are related to the implementation of SDG16 “Peace, justice and effective institutions” and its 10 tasks.
The situation with the pandemic exacerbated what is associated with the achievement of SDG16 – the protection of rights, in particular, children and women, people with disabilities from various manifestations of violence. Violence is one of the most common human rights violations. This is evidenced by the facts in the daily reports. “Kazakhstan is on the way to achieving SDG 16.1: Is it possible to create a society without violence?” – experts and project participants are looking for answers to this question.
We draw everyone’s attention to ensuring security on the Internet! In connection with distance learning, our children are on the Internet more and more time, and this is used by developers of new dangerous Internet games, including in Kazakh.
One of the conclusions today is the low legal culture of our citizens, poor awareness of the protection of their rights. The State of law begins with knowledge of its rights and the application of the Laws. And this will be one of the main recommendations of our project.
