“Contribution of students and young teachers to the realization of the SDG-2030”
Organizers: International Secretariat G-Global, Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Leader of the Nation, Eurasian National University named after L.N.Gumilev, UUL Coalition for Green Economy and Development G-Global, Public Institute Leaders of SDG-2030 in Kazakhstan
Today, there are 1.2 billion young people between the ages of 15 and 24, representing 16% of the world population. The active participation of youth in sustainable development efforts is central to achieving a sustainable, inclusive and stable society by 2030 and to preventing the worst threats and challenges to sustainable development, including the effects of climate change, unemployment, poverty, gender inequality, conflict and migration.
On September 24, 2018 during the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly by Mr. Guterres the Youth strategy of the United Nations of Youth 2030 (Youth of 2030) directed to expansion and strengthening of obligations at the global, regional and national levels with the purpose to satisfy needs of youth, to help them to exercise the rights and also to recognize a useful contribution of young people to implementation of positive changes was started.
“All our hopes for a better world on young people,” Mr. Guterres said, “Sustainable development, human rights, peace and security can only be achieved if we give young people the opportunity to become leaders, and allow them to realize their full potential.”
Purpose of the Forum: Develop and strengthen mechanisms for youth participation in policies and activities aimed at strengthening efforts in the field of sustainable development through the development of partnerships between student youth and young teachers of CIS universities.
Slogan: “Youth of the Planet in Support of SDG-2030”
Format of holding Forum
The entire content of the forum will be divided into five blocks:
People – equal access to resources, quality education, health to develop the potential of everyone
Campaign on inclusion (Visit to children ‘s cancer center “Give children joy of communication” together with the project “Hospital clowns”) – with the participation of Marhabat Ramazanova – Leader of SDG 4 among young people of Kazakhstan, master ‘s students Nazarabayev University
Forum-Theatre on Social and Gender Issues in Society
The planet – ecology and green technologies, fight about change
Visit to waste processing plant, as a result of which to conduct hackaton on search of ideas for information and educational campaign on separate garbage collection/on rejection of polyethylene bags (Together with AEOC)
Meeting with eco-activist Asel Baimukanova – Leader of SDG 14 on Preservation of Marine Ecosystems – (Institute of Hydrobiology of Ecology on Rescue of Caspian Seal)
