HOW TO REDUCE VIOLENCE
The fight against violence is an important task for our society, which requires special attention.
Unfortunately, in recent years such facts have appeared more and more often.
At the same time, many cases of violence, regardless of the sex or age of the victim, are silenced.
The victims do not tell anyone about this, and even if they try, it rarely comes to court.
We will discuss the following issues live at the Public Monitor expert platform:
How important is increased punishment for violence?
How effective are crisis centres, helplines for victims of violence?
Do you agree that low digital literacy among parents, teachers and children leads to increased cyberbullying and other forms of violence over the Internet?
What measures, in your opinion, are most effective in reducing domestic violence?
What are the mechanisms to counter bullying and cyberbullying?
What is the role of the media and social networks in preventing violence? Do they deliberately or inadvertently use the “language of enmity” in their publications?
Studio guests:
Saltanat Tursynbekova, human rights defender
Shavkat Sabirov, Director of the Internet Association of Kazakhstan
Elvira Asimova, Commissioner for Human Rights in Kazakhstan
Dinara Zakieva, Chairman of the Nur Otan Council for Family, Women and Child Rights
Aziza Shuzheeva, Deputy Chairman of the Alliance of Women’s Forces of Kazakhstan
Moderator: Murat Abenov
