Address by Natalya Milyuk – Leader of SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Settlements”

Good afternoon, dear friends!
Many of you are increasingly thinking about the future of our planet. Persistent natural disasters, poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, gender inequality, unsustainable use of natural resources, unsanitary, unemployment, poor ecology all lead to the death of our planet. What we will leave to our descendants, on what land they will live, these issues concern all progressive humanity.
On September 25, 2015, UN member states adopted the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. It contains a number of goals aimed at eradicating poverty, preserving the resources of the planet and ensuring well-being for all. 17 The Goals contain a set of indicators to be achieved within 15 years. The achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals requires the joint efforts of Governments, the private sector, civil society and the inhabitants of the Earth.
Each of us and all of us together can save our planet if we act together without putting everything aside for later. “Delay of death like” – these winged words should become for us all the motto of decisive action.
As a leader of the Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements SDG-11, I encourage all of you to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. And this does not require huge financial resources, it is necessary only to understand the goals, tasks and ways of their implementation.
On my page I will try to explain in accessible form ways to achieve the goals of sustainable development and to highlight the results of our joint activities.
